Our Story

Building the school platform South Africa deserves

High Scholar was founded by educators who grew tired of fragmented tools, lost paperwork, and parents left in the dark. We set out to build one connected ecosystem that puts teachers, learners, and parents on the same page — literally.

Our mission

To make every school — from a rural public school to a multi-campus private college — run with the same operational clarity and communication quality that the best institutions in the world enjoy.

We do that by giving teachers a powerful web platform to manage their classes, learners a mobile app that keeps their school life organised, and parents a live window into their child's progress — all in sync, all in real time.

What we believe

The principles that guide every decision we make.

Purpose-built for schools

Every feature in High Scholar was designed around real classroom and administrative workflows — not retrofitted from a generic SaaS template.

Inclusive by design

We build for learners across the full socio-economic spectrum, ensuring the platform is accessible regardless of device type or connectivity quality.

Trust and data privacy

POPIA compliance is foundational, not an afterthought. Student data is never sold, never profiled, and never leaves South African jurisdiction.

Continuous improvement

We ship updates every two weeks, driven directly by feedback from teachers, learners, and parents in our network of partner schools.

Built in South Africa

Our team is based in Johannesburg. We understand the local curriculum, the CAPS framework, and the realities of the South African school environment.

Outcomes over features

We measure success by learner progress and teacher efficiency, not by the number of features on a spec sheet.
